It’s official paramount is cranking out more movies in the ‘Transformers’ franchise and has set the release dates for THREE new sequels coming over three consecutive years.
The as-yet-untitled ‘Transformers 5′, directed by Michael Bay, will hit theaters on 23 June, 2017, ‘Transformers 6′ is coming 8 June, 2018, while ‘Transformers 7′ will land on 28 June, 2019.
Next year’s ‘Transformers 5′ is likely to be Bay’s last time in the director’s seat on the franchise, but he’ll probably stay on board as an exec producer alongside Steven Spielberg.
“’Transformers’, I still have a great time. It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see,”
Bay told Rolling Stone earlier this year,
“But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.”
‘Transformers 5′will star Mark Wahlberg who’s confirmed he’s reprising his role as inventor Cade Yeager.There’s also plans afoot for ‘Transformers’ spin-off films expanding the universe of Bay’s films beyond the existing timeline.
